Alcorn Wholesale Sturges Company Long Distribution - Corinth Long Distribution - Meridian

It is with the dedicated efforts of all employees at both locations that we can serve and assist our respected customers in this dedicated manner.

In 1922, Erst Long, Sr. founded Tippah Wholesale Company in Ripley, Mississippi. The business quickly grew and in 1940 Alcorn Wholesale was opened in Corinth, Mississippi.

Both Erst Long, Jr and Raiford Long became active in the business following their service in WWII. The company then expanded in 1964 with the purchase of the Sturges Company located in Meridian MS.

The company has continued to grow through the years with acquiring other companies, building of larger warehouses in both Meridian and Corinth and the modernization of process in these warehouses.

Throughout the years, our business has been family owned and operated. Randy Long and Sam Long, the son’s of Erst Long, Jr, and Ray Long, son of Raiford Long serve as officers.

Other officers in the company are Trey Long, son of Ray and Loraine Long and Barnes Marshall, grandson of Erst and Velma Long.

Long Wholesale Distribution, Inc has evolved from a general supplier, delivering orders with a horse and wagon, to one of the largest convenience store suppliers in the South.

Though today’s convenience stores bear little resemblance to customers from the 1920’s, the basics of customer satisfaction remain the same.
